We have stock of the Smik V4 Wingfoil Board in the most popular sizes for beginner foilers.
The 6'6 135L & the 6'9 150L.
Simon recommends learning on a board that is between 30L and 50L above your weight.
For example, for a body weight of 100Kg, select a board of between 130L and 150L.
Skill level, age and previous water sports experience all contribute to whether you should be on a board 30L above your weight, or 50L above your weight.
If unsure, the larger board is better because it's much easier to be learning on a bit too large board than a bit too small board. And you will have to sell your first learner board to upgrade to a smaller board once you progress, so it makes sense to get the right size board to learn on, rather than try to learn on a smaller board with the idea that you won't need to change boards later as you progress.
About the new V4 Wingboard:
- Narrower and thicker than pervious incarnations make for a more agile feel in turning.
- Longer flat and higher volume tail make for easy popping up onto the foil.
- Bevelled rails make for smooth touchdowns.
- Aerodynamic nose makes it pierce the air efficiently.
- PVC wrap carbon decks make for super light and tough.
